Thank you for letting me experience Grand Velas. What a fabulous property and I am so glad that I stayed in the Zen Suite. The other locations are great, however, I would now try and push for people to stay in the Zen Suite area for a different experience from other properties that have been to. I had a full tour of the property and even experienced a fabulous spa treatment and loved the water experience. Both Frida and Piaf's were amazing and I have to say Piaf's could be one of my favorite restaurants. The room was lovely and my butler Josue was fabulous. The driver's of the vans were lovely and always greeted me with a smile. I also enjoyed breakfast at the Boutique one morning so that i could talk to clients about all the options. The kids program and what is offered for teens is great. I'm just sorry my boyfriend was not with me as he is my biggest supporter of properties that he enjoys and this would have been right up his alley. Unfortunately, he just got a new client and was unable to travel with me. I'll need to bring him so that he can tell all his client's about it!!!! I now feel confident to sell the property and look forward to sending clients your way. I will keep taking the expert classes as I do believe that you offer a great all inclusive 5 star property. Great luxury value. Muchos Gracias for the opportunity to stay! 2 nights definitely was not enough!!!- Lisa Firestone, CTC Protravel International -
The Grand Velas Riviera Maya is a luxury, everything included property, located 40mins south of Cancun. Adjacent to the Mayakoba complex, it offers something for everyone. Comprised of 3 different “ambiances” or settings. The entire resort is an all-suite property, with families welcomed to stay in any area. • Zen o This is the ‘jungle’ zone, which is lush and tropical, reminiscent of Bali or Thailand • Ambassador o This is the largest, family centric zone, located on the beach • Grand o Beachfront, this is the most ‘upscale’, with adults only restaurants Each guest is welcomed upon arrival with a cool towel and a beverage. Check in is done quickly, and an escort to the suite is combined with an overview of the section you are in, as well as an overview of the entire resort. While each area is distinct, they all share an excellent design aesthetic, and regardless of where you reside, the entire complex is available for everyone. The exception are some adult only restaurants in Grand. Food is excellent, with multiple options for every meal, including buffets and a la carte options. Restaurants are: • Piaf French • Sen Lin Asian Fusion • Lucca Mediterranean/Italian • Frida Nouvelle Mexican • Azul Casual international fare • Bistro Casual international fare • Chaka Regional Mexican cuisine • Cocina de Autor Creative “chefs table” upscale, multi-course dining The highlight of the resort may be the Zen Spa, the largest in all Latin America. An amazing, tranquil space, with an aqua therapy experience that is included for all treatments. An hour-long progression thru thermal areas, mud room, cold plunges, showers, and massaging hydro therapy pools. As each area is easily accessed via a short (10 min max) air-conditioned ride, there are options for everyone. I thought those closest to the beach would be preferable, but ZEN turned out to be my favorite. While at a softer price point, as it is in the jungle, it was shaded, lush, and very tropical. Cascading pools at varying levels allowed for a full day outdoors, without concern of over exposure to the sun! Full service for infants and toddlers includes the pre arrival set up for baby baths, strollers, bathroom amenities, etc. There is also a wedding chapel on site, and special team that will help with all of the arrangements. Every day seemed to bring a new, creative surprise amenity, often sculpted from chocolate at turn down. There was never a feeling of compromise or any of the negative assumptions of what all-inclusive resorts used to be. Staff are all friendly & enthusiastic and seem to be well taken care of. The food quality was excellent, without exception. Grand Velas has managed to redefine the experience of an “everything included” concept, and the result is a world class option for upscale travelers. For us, the travel sales agents, the challenge is overcoming the “objection of perception”. The product execution is done exceedingly well, and clients will feel that they have been directed to a great concept, where all their needs are met, and expectations are exceeded. They have disrupted the norm of a luxury vacation, and clients will thank you for referring them.- Frank Barquero - Mansour Travel Company -
Well, I have officially stayed at all 3 beautiful Grand Velas properties. While each one has its’ own unique feel, they all offer the same high level of service that the brand is so known for. The employees are happy and smiling, helpful and caring and most of all… really seem to enjoy and take pride in what they do. Grand Velas is definitely leaps and bounds above any other all-inclusive product in Mexico. The brand can definitely old it’s own with the other luxury brands… they just happen to be all-inclusive and the others are not. I’ve sent clients to all properties and will continue to do so. Our Grand Class suite was on the ground level and I would recommend this to my clients. I loved the fact that just beyond our spacious balcony was a large grassy area and then the beach. The suites are very, very large and well appointed. Our mini-bar was stocked with every sweet treat and munchie that you could ever want and when we consumed something, it was immediately replaced. There were plenty of water bottles and soft drinks in there too. When we drank the wine, it too was replaced right away. Our concierge even noticed what we liked and stocked more of those items. The bathroom amenities are all wonderful and we felt very spoiled! Speaking of the bathroom, very large with a separate shower and large soaking tub with jets. You could not ask for more space or amenities. We had a very large walk in closet with plenty of space for everyone to hang and put away their clothes. The grounds are spectacular. Driving into the resort is like driving into a jungle or rain forest. About a mile down the road, you get to the beach… it’s simply stunning! I like the fact that there are 3 different buildings with their own pools as it gives guest the chance to have a different feel if they chose. Each of the pools is gorgeous and unique in its own way. Restaurants galore and the food is really good. Service is outstanding. Whatever type of food you feel like, you can have it here. The Grand Velas team takes great pride in curating menus that are inventive and tasteful. The spa is so special from start to finish. My massage was amazing. The whole ritual is very unique. All in all, I feel Grand Velas gives their guests a wonderful experience and lots of value for their travel dollars.- Sheri Gottschalk | Luxury Travel Designer | Frosch -
At the end of April I was lucky enough to join a fam to Grand Velas Riviera Maya. From the moment we arrived it was perfection. The hotel is divided into 3 buildings, Zen, Ambassador and Grand Class. We stayed in Grand Class which is all ocean front and adults only . The rooms are beautifully appointed, very large and the views are great. The spa at this hotel is a real “wow” and probably the best in the Cancun area if not Mexico. They have a water experience that is included with all treatments, that is really a treatment by itself. It is huge and has anything you could want from a spa. As if the rooms, pool and spa are not enough, the food is the best part of staying here. It’s unlike any other all-inclusive I have been to or sold. There are so many different restaurant choices and all have to food as good, if not better than the top restaurants in town. I really recommend staying here and if you have any specific questions feel free to contact me.- Pamela Appleby | Protravel International, LLC. -
I just returned from Grand Velas Riviera Maya where I had the privilege of spending 5 nights. My stay, from beginning to end, was pure perfection. I love that it feels like you have 3 resorts in one, with the highest of standards in terms of food, drink and service. The spa is a world-class spa with a complimentary water ceremony for guests booking a 50 minute spa treatment. The water ceremony in and of itself is like a full treatment and was really amazing. I was moved from one experience to another by a dedicated spa attendant. The spa attendant would advise on what the experience was and did as well as provide a suggested amount of time to spend before returning to grab me and take me to the next experience. The staff is wonderful and friendly and very quick to make sure that you are comfortable and have everything that you need or want. Each restaurant is authentic and I felt like I was dining at the hottest and newest restaurant in a major cosmopolitan city, minus the expensive bill at the end. I loved the immaculate grounds with the bougainvillea covering the exterior of the accommodations. I definitely had a sense of place here at this resort. The Zen Class pool was my biggest surprise! It was quiet and I felt that I had the entire place to myself and had been transported back to Thailand. Aside from the wonderful experience at the property, I also love that the resort offers perks to Travel Advisors booking the property by extending a booking bonus in the form of cash made out to the agent.
